Shawn was last seen on the evening of 12 August 2024, leaving Lakewood Apartments. Concerned family and friends were worried for her safety and had taken to social media to spread the word.
The Eufaula Police Department issued an alert, asking anyone with information about Shawn’s whereabouts to come forward. Thankfully, the update from the police department confirmed that she has been found "safe and sound," putting an end to the anxiety that had gripped those close to her.

Jennifer Griffin Benefield offered her support earlier, saying, "Many prayers for a safe return for Shawn!" Jennifer L Williams added some clarification, stating, "She’s okay and safe… And not missing and not sure who reported her as missing according to an update from someone who just spoke with her."
