False Alarm at Aurora BayCare Medical Center – Green Bay Police Respond to Active Shooter Report; Lockdown Lifted Without Incident

Green Bay, Wisconsin – On Friday, August 9, 2024, Aurora BayCare Medical Center experienced a temporary lockdown after a reported security emergency prompted a swift response from the Green Bay Police Department. The incident, which occurred shortly after 12:00 p.m. at the hospital located on 2845 Greenbrier Road, initially raised concerns of an active shooter.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities quickly determined that the report was false, and no threat was present at the medical center. As a precautionary measure, the hospital was placed on lockdown during the investigation, but the lockdown has since been lifted.

Green Bay Police have stated that no further information will be released at this time. The situation has since been resolved, and normal operations at Aurora BayCare Medical Center have resumed.
