Jesse Farber was last seen on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, and his family has been desperately searching for answers ever since.
On the evening of his disappearance, Jesse made a frantic phone call to Rachel Carroll, the mother of his children, around 8:43 pm. During the call, Jesse urgently pleaded for help, saying, "BRING GUNS, I’M IN A TREE, AND 10-11 COYOTES ARE AFTER ME. MY PHONE IS ABOUT TO DIE." He also mentioned being on a mountain behind Tamaqua High School, although he initially described his location as being behind Tamaqua Elementary School. Shortly after, the phone died, and Jesse was never heard from again.
Jesse was last seen walking north on the "S Curves" toward Tamaqua by a long-time friend, Alma Hartwell, who spotted him carrying a backpack near the guard rail. Despite an immediate search and continued efforts over the years, no trace of Jesse has been found.
Rachel Carroll, reflecting on that fateful night, said, "I never imagined that Jesse wouldn’t be found immediately. I thought being in the woods at night, something spooked him. But as the days passed and there was still no sign of Jesse, that phone call really haunted me. If I could describe it, I would say he sounded scared to death."
The case has drawn significant attention on social media, with many people sharing their thoughts and prayers for Jesse and his family. MaryAnn Swoyer Ciccanti expressed her heartache on Facebook, stating, "My heart aches for these families of missing loved ones. And the horrible part is that someone knows something, people don’t just vanish." Similarly, Stephanie Trinkle shared, "I’ve been following. I remember like it was yesterday seeing the news in the paper. I don’t know him or his family. I’m praying for his family and friends he is found."
Despite the years that have passed, Jesse’s family remains hopeful that new information could lead to his return. Rachel Carroll, in her ongoing appeal, said, "It is coming up on nine years now since Jesse went missing and we are desperate for any help we can get." The family continues to seek the public’s help and remains grateful for the support they have received so far.
