Fatal Shooting in Pine Hill Claims Life of 27-Year-Old Justin Ezeiruaku, Community Mourns

Pine Hill, NJ – Tragedy struck the Pine Hill community on Monday night when 27-year-old Justin Ezeiruaku was fatally shot inside a residence on Hancock Lane. The incident occurred around 9:32 p.m. on August 19, 2024. According to reports from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Pine Hill Police Chief Christopher Winters, officers responded to a report of a shooting and found Ezeiruaku suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency medical personnel quickly transported Ezeiruaku to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:51 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, with detectives urging anyone with information to come forward.

The loss of Justin Ezeiruaku has left his family devastated. Erika Ezeiruaku, Justin’s sister, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise $25,000 for his funeral expenses. She shared the profound impact his passing has had on their family, particularly on their mother, Christine Ezeiruaku, who is struggling to cope with the loss of her first child. Erika expressed the family’s deep gratitude for any support, noting that even the smallest contributions would help them honor Justin’s memory.

The tragic news has reverberated through the Pine Hill community, with many taking to social media to express their shock and sorrow. Cheryl Myers posted on Facebook, "Does anyone know this man? Was this a home invasion? This is getting too close to home. Prayers to his family and friends. Hope they find who did this!"

Tallspirit Morris added, "Sad. Praying for this young man that his family gets justice." Another community member, Patricia Moran Blakely, simply commented, "Wow!!!!" echoing the disbelief shared by many.

As the investigation continues, the community’s thoughts remain with Justin Ezeiruaku’s family, hoping for justice and closure in the wake of this senseless tragedy.
