Father and Son, Larry Glenn Brenner and Jonathan Michael Brenner, Tragically Killed in Auto-Pedestrian Accident in Clackamas County

Clackamas County, Oregon — A tragic incident unfolded on the evening of Saturday, August 10, 2024, when a vehicle struck and killed two pedestrians, a father and his adult son, in unincorporated Clackamas County. The victims have been identified as 81-year-old Larry Glenn Brenner and his 41-year-old son, Jonathan Michael Brenner, both residents of Boring, Oregon.

The accident occurred around 9 p.m. on SE Lusted Road near SE Dodge Park. According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the two men were walking near the roadside when they were hit by a 2012 Subaru Forester driven by 74-year-old David James Robyler of Sandy, Oregon. Both father and son were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, David Robyler, remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation to determine the factors that led to this tragic event, including whether impairment, speed, or other conditions played a role. As of now, no charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.

The loss of Larry and Jonathan Brenner has left the community of Boring in mourning. Larry Brenner was well-regarded for his contributions to the local community, and Jonathan was remembered for his kindness and dedication to his family. Their sudden deaths have shocked and saddened those who knew them.
