Fernand Breault, Beloved 92-Year-Old, Passes Away Peacefully at Temiskaming Hospital in New Liskeard

New Liskeard, Ontario – Fernand "Fern" Breault, a cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at the age of 92. Fernand’s passing occurred at Temiskaming Hospital, where he was surrounded by his loving family.

Fernand led a life marked by hard work and dedication. Throughout his years, he took on numerous roles, from farmer and miner to lumberjack and trucker. Later in life, he owned and operated Fern Breault Heating, demonstrating his commitment to providing for his family and community until his retirement.

He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his wife, Lucille (Lambert-Labonté), and his children Janine, Suzanne, Daniel, Donald, and Ginette. Fernand’s memory also lives on through his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and extended family members.

The community has expressed an outpouring of support and sympathy. On Facebook, Francine Brazeau wrote, "My sincere sympathy to the family!" Tracy Joyal shared, "Condolences to the family! Rest in the arms of the angels, my friend." Similarly, Julien Breault remembered him as "a very kind and gentle person" who always had a pleasant smile.

Fernand’s family will receive visitors at Buffam Léveillé Funeral Home on Thursday, August 15, 2024, with a Funeral Mass to be held in his honor at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, August 16, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Diabetes Society.

Fernand Breault’s legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication to family will be remembered by all who knew him.
