Fernando Minjares of Oxnard, California, Passes Away at 79, Fundraiser Launched to Honor His Legacy

Oxnard, California – Fernando Minjares, a beloved community member of Oxnard, has passed away at the age of 79 after a brave battle. His daughter, Mary Minjares, has organized a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and honor the legacy of a man who was deeply cherished by his family and community.

Fernando was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, who found faith later in life and became an active member of his church. His commitment to his faith and family was unwavering, and he was known for his generous spirit and dedication to those around him.

Beyond his family and faith, Fernando had a lifelong passion for boxing. He not only enjoyed the sport but also gave back to the community by coaching young athletes at the Colonia Gym for many years. His mentorship left a lasting impact on countless youths, instilling in them the values of discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

In this difficult time, the Minjares family is seeking support to give Fernando the farewell he deserves. A fundraiser has been launched with a goal of $6,000 to cover funeral expenses. So far, $135 has been raised through five donations. Contributions of any size or even sharing the fundraiser would mean a great deal to the family.

Mary Minjares, expressing her gratitude for the community’s kindness and generosity, shared that any help during this challenging time would honor her father’s legacy in a meaningful way.

The fundraiser, organized by Mary in Oxnard, is still ongoing, and the family hopes to gather enough support to properly celebrate the life of Fernando Minjares, who gave so much to those around him.
