Fort Wayne Community Grieves After 6-Year-Old Christopher Macias Menjivar Fatally Struck by Vehicle on East Pontiac and Abbott Streets

Fort Wayne, Indiana – A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, claiming the life of 6-year-old Christopher Macias Menjivar, who was identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle on East Pontiac and Abbott streets. The Allen County Coroner’s Office confirmed the young boy’s identity.

According to Fort Wayne police, Christopher was crossing the street when he was hit by a car. Witnesses reported that the child darted in front of the vehicle suddenly, giving the driver little time to react. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Christopher was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

Authorities have stated that the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation. They do not believe that speed or alcohol played a role in the tragic incident. The crash is still under investigation by the Allen County Coroner’s Office, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and Fort Wayne police.

This heartbreaking event has left the Fort Wayne community in mourning as they come to terms with the loss of such a young life.
