Gene Gary Serrett, 77, Safely Located After Being Reported Missing in Staunton, Virginia

Staunton, Virginia – Gene Gary Serrett, a 77-year-old resident of Staunton, has been safely located after being reported missing on August 19, 2024. The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office had issued a missing person alert, requesting public assistance in locating Mr. Serrett, who was last seen leaving a residence in Staunton at approximately 7:30 AM on the morning of August 19. His friends reported him missing after not hearing from him for an extended period.

Mr. Serrett was believed to be driving a 2008 gold Chevrolet truck with Virginia license plates UTJ8819 when he disappeared. The Sheriff’s Office actively sought information from the public, urging anyone with details to come forward.

Following the alert, the community expressed their concern and hopes for his safe return. Many took to social media to share their prayers and well-wishes. Mary Lowe commented, "Prayers lifted for his safe return," while Annette Marshall Gregory added, "Praying he is found and is safe. Praying for his family." Other community members, such as Madonna Liptrap and Bo White, also shared similar sentiments, emphasizing the collective hope for Mr. Serrett’s safety.

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Mr. Serrett has been safely located, bringing relief to his friends, family, and the broader Staunton community.
