Georgetown Resident Jonathan Hensley Dies in Tragic Accident While Biking, Community Rallies Support for His Family

Georgetown, KY – Jonathan Hensley, a resident of Georgetown, tragically passed away on August 25, 2024, after being struck by a vehicle during a bike ride. The accident has left the Georgetown community mourning the loss of Jonathan, who is survived by his wife, Rosie, and their two young children.

In the wake of this heartbreaking incident, friends and community members have come together to support the Hensley family. A fundraiser organized by Jess Toews has been launched to help cover funeral expenses and other immediate needs for the family. The fundraiser has already raised $250 of its $5,000 goal, with donations from individuals such as MaryAnn Sutton, Tina Fleming, and Amanda Saylor.

Jess Toews, a close friend of Rosie, shared her grief on Facebook, urging the community to contribute and share the fundraiser. "Yesterday my friend Rose Mary Forte lost her husband in a tragic accident. Jonathan leaves behind a wife and 2 kids. In addition to prayers, please consider making a donation to their family," Toews posted.

The outpouring of support on social media has been overwhelming, with community members expressing their condolences and eagerness to help. Dionne Boone commented, "Thank you for starting this. We’re heartbroken for them," to which Toews responded, "I LOVE Miss Rosie. I’m so thankful that she is allowing us to help!"

As the community continues to rally around the Hensley family during this difficult time, the fundraiser remains open for those who wish to contribute. The funds will be used to assist the family with funeral costs and other unexpected expenses.
