Gift Lake Métis Settlement, Alberta – The community of Gift Lake is still searching for answers nearly two years after the disappearance of Joey Curtis Flett. Joey, also known as Joseph Flett, was last seen on September 28, 2022, leaving a property in Gift Lake. Despite ongoing investigations, his whereabouts remain unknown, leaving his family and the community in distress.

Joey, 42 at the time of his disappearance, is of Indigenous descent and was last seen wearing a black coat, black hat, camo sweatpants, and a camo hoodie. His vehicle was found abandoned at a rural location, raising concerns about his safety. High Prairie RCMP have continued to seek information to confirm Joey’s wellbeing, but so far, no significant leads have emerged.

The community has rallied around Joey’s family, sharing his story on social media and keeping his memory alive.
