Glenn Combs of Hazard, Kentucky Passes Away Peacefully at 84, Community Mourns

Hazard, Kentucky—The community of Hazard is mourning the loss of Glenn Combs, who passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. Glenn was 84 years old.

Born on August 4, 1940, in Hazard, Kentucky, Glenn was the son of the late Adam Combs and Lillian Patrick. He was a proud United States Army veteran, known for his love of listening to the radio and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenn’s passing comes just over a year after the death of his beloved wife, Hazel Combs.

Glenn is survived by his son, Tony Combs, and his daughter, Sharon Hall, both of Rowdy, Kentucky. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Jones, Janice Phillips, Phyllis Philpot, Vickie Rodriguez, and Cena Feltner, as well as his grandchildren, Tiffany Tricker, Christopher Hall, Tyler Combs, and Hannah Cook. His great-grandchildren include Miss Addie, Jaxon, Kasen, and Kambrie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Engle-Bowling Funeral Home, with funeral services scheduled for Saturday, August 17, 2024. Military rites will be performed in honor of Glenn’s service to the country.

The community has shared an outpouring of support on social media. Chris Hall of 606 Storm Chasing wrote, “We lost Pap yesterday. I have been off social media for a bit. Love you all. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.”

Others echoed the sentiment. Ramella Hitchcock shared, “I am so sorry for your loss. We loved watching Pop’s videos. He will be missed by millions. Prayers going up for the entire family.”

Lynn Burnett expressed, “Saying goodbye to a grandparent is never easy, but I hope you find comfort in the memories you shared with Pap.”

The community continues to rally around the family, offering prayers and condolences as they remember the life of Glenn Combs, a beloved member of Hazard, Kentucky.
