Greenville Community Unites in Search for Missing Timothy Lynn Purvis, Last Seen at His Hopkins Drive Residence

Greenville, NC – The community is coming together in hopes of finding 63-year-old Timothy Lynn Purvis, who has been missing since July 29, 2024. Mr. Purvis was last seen at his residence on Hopkins Drive and was reported missing on August 6th by concerned family members.

Standing at approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds, Mr. Purvis is known to frequent the areas of Pitt Street and Brown Street in Greenville. Local authorities have asked the public for any information that might help locate him. The Greenville Police Department urges anyone with details about Mr. Purvis’s whereabouts to contact them at 252-329-4315.

The concern for Mr. Purvis’s safety has sparked numerous reactions on social media. Donna Avery Humphrey posted, "I’m praying that he is safe," reflecting the sentiments of many in the community. Tori MzCourtesy Smith mentioned an encounter, saying, "He came to the store last week and said he needed a ride to RDU airport," raising questions about his intended destination.
