Gwen Jenell Collins, a 62-year-old woman from Gibsonville, North Carolina, has been reported missing by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office. Ms. Collins, described as a Black female standing 5’1", was last seen on August 9, 2024, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. near 6159-A Bellflower Road. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a pink nightgown and is believed to have been barefoot.
Due to Ms. Collins’ cognitive impairments, a Silver Alert has been issued, prompting an extensive search effort. The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, along with several local agencies including the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Greensboro Fire Department, Guilford County Fire and Rescue, and Guilford County Emergency Management, is actively utilizing all available resources in the search.
The community has shown immense concern for Ms. Collins’ safety. Jennifer Freeman expressed her hopes on Facebook, writing, "Hope she’s found safe and makes it home safe too!" Similarly, Janice Koonts Younts shared her prayers for the search teams and Ms. Collins, stating, "God please protect those who are searching for her and bring them all home safely too. This is a lost child of God. We are all children of God."
