Hollidaysburg Mourns the Loss of Beloved First Grade Teacher Kenzie Schneeberger

Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania – The community is heartbroken following the sudden death of Kenzie Schneeberger, a cherished first-grade teacher at Hollidaysburg Area School District. The news of her passing, announced through social media on August 7, 2024, has left many in shock and mourning.

Kenzie Schneeberger, known for her dedication and passion for teaching, made a significant impact on her students at Frankstown Elementary. The school district expressed deep sorrow, describing her as a nurturing and inspiring presence in the classroom. Her innovative lesson plans and personal connections with students were particularly noted.

"Frankstown Elementary and the entire Hollidaysburg Area School District Community is deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Kenzie Schneeberger, one of our fourth grade teachers. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends as they mourn this heartbreaking loss," a statement from the school district read.

To support students coping with this loss, counselors will be available at Frankstown Elementary. Parents are encouraged to reach out to school counselors if they have concerns about their child’s reaction to this tragedy.

Kenzie was highly regarded for her genuine interest in her students’ success and well-being. Her approach to teaching aimed to foster curiosity and a love of learning. Colleagues and students remember her intelligence, patience, and ability to see potential in everyone she taught.

Annie Davis shared her thoughts on Facebook, saying, "Our community lost a very special soul yesterday. Kenzie — you were a beautiful, bright light to so many people! We will all be lifting your family up in prayers. ‘I hope you’re dancing in the sky and I hope you’re singing in the angel’s choir and I hope the angels know what they have…’”

Other community members expressed their condolences on social media. Rachel Miller Walk commented, "Sorry for your loss! Sounds like she was an amazing person. Prayers to her friends and family." Leslie Williams added, "So sorry for your loss Annie!" Brie Cousins wrote, "Thinking all who loved her and sending prayers."
