Honoring Salvator Isaiah Ortiz – Community Gathers for Fundraiser to Support His Children’s Education

Chicago, Illinois – The community is mourning the loss of Salvator Isaiah Ortiz, a beloved figure known for his vibrant personality and culinary talents, who passed away on August 21, 2024. A fundraiser has been launched by Stacy Nahas to support the education of his three children, reflecting the deep love and admiration that family and friends had for Ortiz.

Ortiz, an Executive Chef, was known for his ability to bring joy to those around him. Despite his outgoing nature, he was described as genuinely shy and cherished his family and friends. His passion for cooking was evident in his work, often impressing with his skills in managing large-scale events. However, the challenges of the hospitality industry, especially during the Covid pandemic, took a toll on him. Nevertheless, his resilience and dedication to his craft remained steadfast.

Ortiz was a devoted father to his son, Salvador Ortiz Jr., affectionately known as “Baby” Sal, and his daughters, Angelica “Jelly” Ortiz and Isabella “Izzy-Bella” Ortiz. He also had a close-knit relationship with his siblings and an extended family that included nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

In honor of Ortiz’s memory and to support his children, a Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, October 19, 2024, in Chicago. The fundraiser aims to raise $15,000 to go toward educational funds for Ortiz’s children. Donations are being accepted through GoFundMe, with Stacy Nahas organizing the efforts.

The outpouring of support from those who knew Ortiz has been overwhelming, highlighting the impact he had on many lives. His friends and loved ones continue to share their memories and offer their support, ensuring that his legacy lives on through the lives of his children.
