Houston Resident Sarah Koller Passes Away After Courageous Battle with Breast Cancer, Leaving a Legacy of Compassion

Houston, Texas – Sarah Bottecelli Koller, a beloved resident of Houston, Texas, has passed away after a brave fight against breast cancer. Sarah, the wife of Steven Konarik, was surrounded by her family when she died on Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was 40 years old.

Born on July 16, 1984, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sarah was the eldest of five siblings. Her natural leadership qualities and passion for bringing people together were evident throughout her life. Recently, she had launched a coffee shop in Columbus, Texas, which quickly became a community hub.

Sarah’s dedication to helping others was limitless. She was actively involved in lobbying for breast cancer patients, raising awareness and funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and even finding homes for foster dogs. Her energy and positivity left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Steven Konarik, her mother, Paula Bottecelli, her siblings Paul, David, Rachel, and Leah, along with their partners. She also leaves behind her nephew, Charles, and niece, Sadie. Her father, Charles A. Koller, preceded her in death.

A funeral service for Sarah Koller will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Congregation Brith Shalom, located at 4610 Bellaire Blvd. Burial will follow at Congregation Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery.

The news of Sarah’s passing has deeply affected those who knew her. Friends and loved ones took to social media to express their grief and share memories.

Steven Konarik shared, “My heart is filled with so much pain. She touched so many lives and brought them together. Forever in my heart!”

Carrie McRee posted, “This is so heartbreaking, way too young and she had so much life to live. Sarah had a beautiful smile and was always so nice and kind. My thoughts and prayers are with you, her family, and many friends during this difficult time.”

Leigh Hastedt expressed her sorrow, writing, “I am sad… she was the best.”

Lindsi Graham offered her condolences, saying, “Oh Steve… I am so sorry. Beautiful inside and out. Sending prayers.”

Other friends and acquaintances also shared their grief and offered support to Steven, with many describing Sarah as a light in their lives and expressing their shock at her untimely passing.
