Howard F. Carr of Latham, NY, Passes Away at 75, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love and Dedication

Howard F. Carr, a cherished resident of Latham, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the age of 75. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community.

Howard Carr was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His life was marked by deep love and commitment, particularly with his wife of 53 years, Linda Carr, who shared countless joys and challenges with him throughout their enduring partnership. Howard’s children, Aaron (Lauren) Carr and Lauren (Brett) Baxt, were the pride of his life, and his grandchildren, Jordyn Baxt, Noah Baxt, and Maddison Carr, brought him immense happiness.

Howard’s legacy also includes his close bond with his brothers, Melvin (Sandy) and Murray (Risa) Carr. The brothers shared many experiences, and their memories will undoubtedly provide comfort in this difficult time.

A funeral service in honor of Howard Carr will be held on Sunday, August 25th, at 12:00 pm at Congregation Gates of Heaven, located at 852 Ashmore Ave. in Schenectady. He will be laid to rest at The Independent Benevolent Cemetery in Albany. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Howard’s life and offering their condolences.

The passing of Howard Carr has sparked an outpouring of grief and fond memories on social media. Stuart Kaufman, a long-time friend, expressed, "Good guy to the end.. R.I.P." Barbara Madison Ripps shared her sorrow, saying, "I am so sorry to hear of Howard’s passing, Linda. May his memory be for a blessing." Aaron Stracher also conveyed his condolences, "Sorry for your loss. May his memory be a blessing."

Al Maikels remembered Howard as "The go-to guy if you had a question on commercial real estate and an all-around good man." Dick Adair was deeply affected, stating, "I am stunned! Just saw him on Tuesday at physical therapy where we had a quick chat about health. You never know when! God bless Howie Carr."

Others, like Steven Lerner, struggled to find the words, reflecting, "Hard to find the words. I’ve known Howard for so many years. The whole family! My sincerest condolences. RIP Howard."
