Howard Hendricks of Spokane Valley Passes Away from Throat Cancer, Community Rallies to Support Grieving Widow

Spokane Valley, Washington – The community is coming together to support the family of Howard Hendricks, a kind and devoted man who recently lost his battle with throat cancer. Howard was known for his dedication as a husband and father, as well as his work as a logger. He was also involved in local charity work, including volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Greater Spokane County.

Howard’s passing has left his wife, Ricky, in a difficult financial situation as she struggles to cover the funeral costs. A fundraiser has been organized by Luke Andersen, a community member who met Howard through Meals on Wheels, to help Ricky during this challenging time. The fundraiser has set a goal of $9,000, but as of now, only $50 has been raised.

Luke Andersen shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying, "Howard Hendricks was a kind man and a devoted husband and father. He died of throat cancer a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, his wife Ricky is unable to pay the funeral fees. Let me tell you, he and his wife have been put through the ringer. They are both kind people who have been taken advantage of. Anything will help."

Another Facebook user, Luke Justin Andersen, urged the community to honor Howard’s memory, posting, "Please help me honor a kind man’s memory. I met Howard in my Meals on Wheels of Greater Spokane County route this year. He was a logger and man of faith. He left behind a wife who is having trouble paying the bills. If you can any little bit helps."

The community’s response has been slow, but there is hope that more people will contribute to the fundraiser and help Ricky cover the funeral expenses.

Donations can be made through the GoFundMe page organized by Luke Andersen. The community’s support during this difficult time is greatly appreciated.
