In Loving Memory of Likeke Ricardo Ibale – Honolulu Community Mourns Sudden Loss of Aloha Festivals Equestrian Marshal

Honolulu, HI – The community of Honolulu is mourning the unexpected passing of Likeke Ricardo Ibale, who was set to take on the distinguished role of Equestrian Marshal at the upcoming 2024 Aloha Festivals Floral Parade. Likeke, known affectionately by his friends and family as a beloved "palala" and "braddah," passed away just days ago, leaving behind a void in the hearts of those who knew him.

Likeke was eagerly anticipating the opportunity to lead the parade from Ala Moana Beach Park to Kapiʻolani Park, a role he was both honored and excited to fulfill. However, as shared by his loved ones, Ke Akua (God) called him home, where his late parents, who passed away years ago, would be waiting to embrace him with aloha.

A fundraiser has been organized by Wahine Holo Lio to help cover the costs of Likeke’s funeral and a memorable pāʻīna (feast). The fundraiser, titled "In Loving Honor and Memory of LIKEKE (RICARDO) IBALE," has raised $1,125 so far, out of a $15,000 goal, with contributions coming from various supporters including AnaLisa Hennessey, who donated $100, and Leilani Kūpahu-Marino Kahoʻāno, who donated $200.

On Facebook, friends and family have expressed their sorrow and shared their memories of Likeke. Terry-Lin Branco posted, "A hui hou so happy I got to spend a lito bit of time and space with you when I came home in April, Fly high brother." Klunx Ah Lee Sam also expressed gratitude, stating, "Thank you Aunty. Every bit of donation and sharing helps. Love you and Keep safe over there!!!"

As the community comes together to honor Likeke’s memory, they are reminded of his joyful spirit and the love he shared with everyone he met. Donations and support continue to pour in, helping to ensure that Likeke receives the beautiful send-off he deserves, one that reflects the grand parade he might now be leading in heaven.

For those who wish to contribute, donations can be made through the GoFundMe page organized by Wahine Holo Lio. The community remains deeply grateful for any support during this time of loss.
