Investigation Continues as Police Clarify the Status of Missing 23-Year-Old Karen Cañete in EB Magalona

EB Magalona, Negros Occidental – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) has clarified that 23-year-old Karen Cañete, who was last seen near the fire station in EB Magalona on August 10, 2024, is not officially considered a missing person. According to Police Colonel Rainerio De Chavez, the Provincial Director of NOCPPO, Karen is believed to have voluntarily left home, and there is no evidence of foul play or kidnapping.

The investigation into her disappearance is ongoing, with the EB Magalona Police continuing to monitor the situation. Karen’s father reported her missing on August 12, prompting the investigation. However, police authorities have assured the public that there is no cause for alarm and that the situation is under control.

Police Colonel De Chavez also issued a reminder to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information online, as false claims can lead to unnecessary panic.
