Oʻahu, Hawaii – The U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii is intensifying efforts to locate Mischa Mabeline Kaolohilani Johnson, a 33-year-old spouse of a service member who was reported missing from her home on Schofield Barracks on August 1, 2024. Mrs. Johnson was last seen on the night of July 31, 2024, within her residence, and her disappearance has since sparked concern and calls for public assistance.
In response to the ongoing investigation, the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has announced a $10,000 reward for credible information that leads to Mrs. Johnson’s recovery. She is described as a Native Hawaiian woman, 5’3" tall, weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She also has a distinctive large dragon tattoo on her back. Authorities have not yet determined what clothing or footwear she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
The Army CID is urging anyone with information to come forward, either by contacting their Pacific Field Office directly or by submitting anonymous tips through the CID’s online tip form. The reward, at the discretion of the Army, may be distributed based on the quality of the information provided.
Social media has been abuzz with concern and speculation regarding the circumstances of Mrs. Johnson’s disappearance. A Facebook user, Zoila Alburo-Boggs, commented, "Weird but the moment I saw the statement from the husband stating ‘he doesn’t know what she was wearing, because she did the laundry.’ Also, he was ‘sleeping’ when she left, gave me goosebumps. Because what if he did that laundry to cover up something?…" This sentiment was echoed by others, including Tempestt Santos-Turlington, who questioned the thoroughness of the investigation: "When the husband reported her missing, did the MPs or HPD bother to check the car engine’s temperature? I understand that it would be impossible to check after 24 hours, HOWEVER, CID can and should check any and all footage in the area, to see if their car was in use."
Additionally, U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii released a statement emphasizing the seriousness with which they are treating the case, and they appealed to the public for any assistance. The Army’s ongoing investigation reflects the broader community’s concern, as many residents and social media users continue to share thoughts and potential leads, hoping for Mrs. Johnson’s safe return.
The situation remains tense as authorities and the community alike await any new developments in the search for Mischa Mabeline Kaolohilani Johnson.
