Irving Community Rallies to Locate 69-Year-Old Karolyn Melton Missing from Las Colinas Medical Center

Irving, Texas – The Irving community came together to assist in the search for 69-year-old Karolyn Melton, who was reported missing early this morning after leaving the Las Colinas Medical Center on foot. The Irving Police Department issued an alert seeking the public’s help in locating her.

Karolyn, who stands 5’6" tall and weighs between 120 and 150 lbs, was last seen wearing a black shirt with "Grandma" written in white letters, black leggings, and black shoes. Her family expressed concerns about her safety, as they believe she is in the early stages of dementia, compounded by a recent head injury at work.

The search efforts quickly gained momentum as residents and visitors in Irving responded to the call for assistance. Thanks to the swift action and cooperation from the community, Karolyn was found within hours. The Irving Police Department updated their alert at 3:37 p.m., expressing their gratitude: "Because of our awesome, helpful residents and visitors of Irving, our missing person was quickly found, and an immediate call to our dispatch center was made. We appreciate everyone for helping us locate her!"

The update brought relief to many who had been praying for Karolyn’s safe return. Dana Nipper-Gilmore shared her sentiments on Facebook, simply writing, "Praying," while Ana Molina Reyes posted, "Thank you, lord."

The community’s rapid response underscores the power of collective action in times of need. The Irving Police Department has since discontinued the alerts, but the event serves as a reminder of the importance of staying vigilant and supporting one another during emergencies.
