Daly City, California – Jacqueline "Jackie" Bartido Balingit, a beloved member of the Daly City community, unexpectedly passed away on August 16, 2024, leaving her family, friends, and coworkers heartbroken. Jackie was known for her warmth, beauty, and an indomitable spirit that made her a bright light in the lives of those who knew her.
Raised in Daly City, Jackie attended Westborough and Skyline, where she developed into the vibrant and passionate woman her loved ones cherished. Known for her fierce independence and tenacity, Jackie lived life on her own terms. Her joyful spirit, contagious laughter, and ability to find the silver lining in any situation endeared her to everyone she met.
Jackie was deeply devoted to her family. She leaves behind her husband, Chris, who was her rock and soulmate, and her children Jeannice (Justin Bowles), Matthew, Chris Jr., and Angelica, who were the center of her world. Her grandson, Liam, brought her endless joy, and she shared a special bond with her sisters-in-law Christine and Joyce, and her uncle Rueben, affectionately known as Uncle Butch.
Jackie’s loss has deeply affected not only her family but also her friends and coworkers. Sheryl Sablan, a close friend and coworker, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support Jackie’s loved ones during this tragic time. Sheryl described Jackie as a woman who lived fully and loved deeply, always bringing joy to those around her. She also recalled Jackie’s love for spending time in casinos, playing the slots, and her unique ability to lift spirits through humor and kindness.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Sheryl Sablan expressed her sorrow and urged others to support Jackie’s family. She wrote, “To those who know me, I’m not normally a fan of GoFundMe. But here I am putting one together for a friend and coworker who unexpectedly lost her life on August 16th. Please take a look, and share. To my City friends who may know Jackie, and would like to attend services, please let me know. Some of us know Duggan’s more than we care to admit… I appreciate the support.”
As of now, the fundraiser has raised $700 out of its $20,000 goal, with donations from Joseph Nelson ($500), Sheryl Sablan ($100), and Byron Lim ($100). The community is rallying around Jackie’s family, providing much-needed support as they navigate this difficult time.
Jackie’s memory will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched with her love, laughter, and kindness.
