Jeannie Williams, a beloved resident of Gurley, Alabama, tragically passed away on Saturday, August 3rd, while on vacation in Jamaica with her husband and family. Her unexpected death has left her family and friends in shock and mourning. They are currently handling the paperwork and coordinating with the US embassy to bring Jeannie back home, a process that may take up to 10 days.
Julie Tj Barnett, Jeannie’s cousin, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying, "Jeannie Williams (Buck as we called her growing up) passed away suddenly in Jamaica. She was always kind and fun. Every time we saw each other, she beamed with pride talking about her son, Chase. She was a wonderful mother, sister, and an amazing person whose light will truly be missed."
Julie also requested prayers for Jeannie’s family, especially her mother, husband, son, and siblings. "Please pray for her family… her mother, her husband, son, and all of her siblings. Pray for her sisters, Christa Mader, Heather Acosta, and Annie. To them, she was the best sister… a friend, a confidant, a cheerleader, a mother, an Aunt to their children, and so much more. Her presence in all of their lives will be forever missed."
The announcement of Jeannie’s passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences on social media. Gina Rose wrote, "Terribly sorry for your loss." Kelli Thornton added, "So sorry, Julie." Aaron O. Moore expressed, "So sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers!" Johnny Smith also offered his sympathies, saying, "Very sorry… will pray for all."
The family will announce funeral arrangements once Jeannie is brought back to the United States. Meanwhile, the community continues to rally around them, offering support and sharing memories of Jeannie’s kind spirit and loving nature.
