Jefferson County Authorities Intensify Search for Missing 87-Year-Old Bobby Joe Bell Last Seen in Birmingham, Alabama

Birmingham, Alabama – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is urgently seeking public assistance in locating 87-year-old Bobby Joe Bell, who has been missing since Friday, August 9, 2024. Mr. Bell was last seen leaving his residence in Birmingham at approximately 10 a.m. He was reportedly traveling to Logan Mountain Lake, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

Authorities have reported that Mr. Bell’s white 2024 Toyota Corolla was last spotted at 12:25 p.m. on the same day in the 2100 block of Moody Parkway, heading towards Odenville, Alabama. Described as 6’3” tall, weighing 200 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, Mr. Bell was last seen wearing a golf shirt and shorts.

Family and friends are deeply concerned for his safety, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to come forward. They can contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.

The community has also expressed concern on social media. Leisa Whitlow commented, "Drive the route and look for places he may have run off the road," while Tara Reaves-Moore confirmed, "Yes, he was supposed to be going to Logan Martin Lake."

The search for Bobby Joe Bell has entered its 11th day, and the urgency for any information that could lead to his safe return is growing. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office continues to follow up on leads and is appealing to the public for their help in this critical search.
