Saint-Gatien-des-Bois, Normandy – Jim Cuenin, a resident of Carqueiranne and former employee of J&M Stables, tragically lost his life in a car accident near Saint-Gatien-des-Bois, in Normandy, on Friday, August 16, 2024. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on the D675 road, where Cuenin’s vehicle veered off the road for reasons that remain unknown.
The accident was severe, with Cuenin being the only person in the car at the time. The vehicle caught fire after leaving the road, and due to the intensity of the flames, authorities were initially unable to determine the identity or even the gender of the deceased. It wasn’t until later that Jim Cuenin was identified as the victim.
Cuenin, who was originally from Châtenay-Malabry, had previously worked at the Pharmacie de Costebelle and studied at Lycée Jean Aicard. His sudden passing has left his family, friends, and colleagues in deep mourning.
In honor of Jim, his family and close friend Alice have invited those who knew him to an aperitif at the Deauville Pole on Tuesday, August 19, starting at 7:00 p.m. at 14th Ave Ox And Bucks, 14800 Saint Arnoult. The burial will take place in Carqueiranne at a later date, which has yet to be determined.
Tributes have been pouring in on social media. Ghislaine Jonquères d’Oriola posted, “In honor of Jim, and to show him all our affection, his family and Alice invite you to an aperitif at the Deauville Pole tomorrow, Tuesday, August 19th, starting at 19:00.”
Francois Stemmer expressed his condolences, saying, “Je ne pourrais malheureusement pas être parmi vous demain… Mais toutes mes pensées vont vers Alice, toi et ton mari, sa famille et tout ses amis…”
Another friend, Dlr Mxm, added, “Sincères condoléances et beaucoup de courage à toute sa famille. Amitiés, Maxime DELRUE.”
