John F. VanHart Sr. of Toms River, New Jersey Passes Away – Community Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Member

Toms River, New Jersey – John F. VanHart Sr., a resident of Toms River and a cherished member of the Kmart/Sears community, passed away on the morning of August 26, 2024. John, who was well-known and loved by many, especially those who worked alongside him, leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and warmth.

John was the beloved husband of Jo-Ann VanHart, and his passing has deeply impacted all who knew him. He was a familiar face to many in Toms River and Bayville, where he previously resided. His life was marked by a spirit of friendship and community, as evidenced by the many heartfelt messages shared by friends and colleagues.

John will be cremated by Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services Inc. in Toms River. At this time, no formal services are planned. However, a celebration of life gathering will be organized later, and details will be shared as soon as arrangements are made.

The news of John’s passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences and memories from those who knew him. Denise Maynard expressed her sadness, saying, "We have lost an amazingly wonderful person. I have known him for over 47 years, as many of our Kmart crew have. He will be greatly missed."

Other tributes poured in on Facebook, reflecting the widespread admiration and love for John. Marisol M Lopez simply stated, "May he be in peace," while Marcella Betterley added, "He was such a nice man."

Gayle Epple extended her condolences, saying, "My condolences to Jo Ann and family and friends. He was such a nice man." Cathy Hurley shared her sorrow, stating, "So so sorry for your loss."
