Joseph Center, 27, Passes Away Following Skokie Bicycle Accident

Skokie, Illinois – Joseph Center, a 27-year-old bicyclist, has tragically passed away three weeks after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Skokie Boulevard and Gross Point Road. The accident, which occurred on July 24 around 7 p.m., left Center critically injured, and despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

The Cook County Medical Examiner confirmed Center’s identity following his death. The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene, cooperating with authorities. The Skokie Police Department, with assistance from the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force’s Major Crash Assist Team, is currently investigating the incident. As of now, no charges or citations have been issued, and further details regarding the accident have not been released.
