Galveston, Texas – Joseph Grams, a local resident, has been declared missing after a kayaking trip in Galveston on the night of August 15, 2024. According to his family, Grams ventured too far out during his late-night excursion and was last in contact with the Coast Guard, mentioning that he could see the Ferris wheel, likely placing him near the Pleasure Pier area. Despite the discovery of his kayak and truck, there has been no sign of Grams himself.
Grams’ daughter-in-law, Kindra Grams, took to Facebook to share the alarming news, urging the community for prayers and assistance in locating her father-in-law. "My father-in-law has been declared a missing person in Galveston," she wrote. "His kayak was found as well as his truck, but he has not been located. Any and all prayers are appreciated."
The post has drawn significant attention, with many offering their thoughts and prayers. Jai’Meria Hubert commented, "So sorry to hear that, praying for you and your family!" while Caitlin Quagliato added, "Oh my goodness!! I’m so sorry to hear this, I pray he is found safe!!!" The community’s concern is palpable as comments continue to pour in with offers of support.
However, amidst the genuine concern, there has been skepticism from some quarters due to the prevalence of scams surrounding missing person reports. Kindra addressed this in her post, noting, "People are DISGUSTING… here’s the post. We can use all the help and prayers we can get." Pam Broussard Shelander also commented on the issue, stating, "Unfortunately, there are so many scams being posted about missing people, but it was easy for most of us on that Galveston page to know this isn’t a scam. Praying your Father-In-Law is found safe."
Authorities are continuing their search for Joseph Grams. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact 911 or the Galveston Police Department at +1 (409) 765-3702.
The community remains hopeful as the search continues, with many clinging to the hope that Grams will be found safe and sound.
