Kansas City Mourns the Loss of Financial Luminary Andrew Miller Saunders as Memorial Service Announced

Kansas City, Missouri – The financial community and residents of Kansas City are mourning the loss of Andrew Miller Saunders, a revered figure in the world of finance who passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on April 3, 1963, in the nation’s capital, Andy Saunders built a legacy through his distinguished career in financial services and his unwavering dedication to his family and community.

A memorial service will be held on August 26, 2024, at the Platte Woods United Methodist Church, located at 7310 NW Prairie View Rd., Platte Woods, MO. The service is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by graveside services at Parkville Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. After the graveside service, the Saunders family will host an open house and visitation at their home, inviting all who wish to pay their respects and share memories.

Andy Saunders was a Park Hill High School alumnus and earned his degree in economics from Columbia University. His career spanned nearly 35 years, during which he held senior positions at prestigious institutions such as Morgan Stanley and Raymond James Financial. Known for his sharp intellect, strong work ethic, and personable nature, Andy was not only a financial advisor but a trusted confidant to his clients and colleagues. His contributions extended beyond his professional life; he served on the board of directors for the Third and Long Foundation and was known for his generous philanthropy.

Andy Saunders is remembered by his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth “Beth” Saunders, and their five children: Lindsay Dee Slagle of Leawood, KS; Andrew Miller Saunders, Jr. of Kansas City, MO; Cooper John Saunders of Riverside, MO; Anne Murrow Saunders of Parkville, MO; and Elle Leigh Saunders of Parkville, MO. He is also survived by his three siblings and two beloved French bulldogs, Pepper and Stella.

As the community prepares to bid farewell to a man who touched many lives, tributes have poured in from those who knew him. On Facebook, friends and family have shared heartfelt memories. One post from a close friend read, "Andy was the kind of person who made you feel special, no matter who you were. His humor and warmth will be deeply missed."
