Kansas City, Kansas – The Kansas City community is in mourning following the tragic passing of 16-year-old Damien Aguilar, a beloved former Cornerback Varsity Football player at Park Hill South High School. Damien passed away on August 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of athletic excellence and a vibrant spirit that touched the lives of many.
Damien was born in January 2008 and quickly became a source of joy and laughter to all who knew him. His mother, Ruby Aguilar, grandparents Eulogio and Maria Aguilar, siblings Ricky Aguilar and Amoriana Aguilar-Malaponte, along with his extended family, are devastated by this sudden loss. Damien was also the proud "father" to his beloved dog, The Momo, with whom he shared a special and unbreakable bond.
Throughout his life, Damien was known for his dedication both on and off the football field. As a standout Cornerback at Park Hill South High, his skills and commitment to the sport were unmatched, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers and coaches alike. His passion extended beyond football, as he was equally enthusiastic about cars, fashion, and fitness. Whether he was cruising in his brother’s car, attending fashion shows, or hitting the gym, Damien did everything with style and confidence.
On social media, friends and family shared heartfelt tributes to Damien, reflecting on his sense of humor, kindness, and the lasting impact he had on those around him. Kansas City Funeral Directors will host a visitation on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a private family service scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2024, followed by burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.
