Wombeyan Caves, Australia – The community is mourning the loss of Ken Fleming, a beloved and respected guide, resident, and historian of Wombeyan Caves, who passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Ken Fleming was a fixture at the Wombeyan Caves for many years, known not only for his deep knowledge of the area but also for his enduring spirit in the face of health challenges. After battling various health issues, including enduring dialysis for 18 years, Ken’s passing marks the end of an era for those who knew him and the caves he loved so much.

Hannah Matthews, a close relative, shared her sorrow on social media, stating, "It is with great sadness that I post the passing of Ken Fleming, long-term guide, resident and historian of Wombeyan Caves and my much-loved uncle. Rest now in peace."

Ken Fleming’s legacy will live on through the countless stories he shared and the lives he touched during his many years at the caves. His memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
