Kevin Anthony Patras, Mokena, Illinois – Beloved Husband and Father Passes Away After Courageous Battle with Metastatic Melanoma

Kevin Anthony Patras of Mokena, Illinois, formerly of Oak Forest, Illinois, passed away at the age of 44, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, dedication, and resilience. Kevin, a devoted husband and father, fought valiantly against metastatic melanoma, a battle that exemplified his strength and commitment to his family.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Katie Patras (née Eichberger), and their two sons, Jake and Caleb Patras. He was the cherished son of Michelle Ciara and Gregory Patras and a loving brother to Michael (Joanna) Patras. His extended family includes his brother-in-law Scott (Gina) Eichberger and his parents-in-law, Tom and Laurie Eichberger. Kevin’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, making him a beloved figure among friends, family, and colleagues.

A graduate of Oak Forest High School, Kevin was a proud member of IBEW Local 134 for 23 years. His dedication to his work and community left a lasting impact on those around him.

In the wake of Kevin’s passing, several heartfelt tributes were shared on social media. Christmas Without Cancer NFP, an organization that had supported Kevin and his family during his illness, expressed their condolences on Facebook, stating, "It is with great sadness we share the passing of our friend and recipient Kevin Patras, who courageously battled metastatic melanoma. Our thoughts and prayers are with Katie and their two amazing boys, Jake and Caleb, as they hold on to the cherished memories of Kevin."

Other community members echoed these sentiments. Margaret Doubek Murray posted, "Prayers for the family," while Lisa Ann added, "Thank you for all that CWC does."

Visitation for Kevin Anthony Patras will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home in Orland Park, IL, with a funeral service to follow on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Good Shepherd Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christmas Without Cancer, March 4 Meg, or Mulliganeers, in Kevin’s memory. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to leave memories and condolences on Kevin’s Tribute Wall at Sheehy Funeral Home, offering comfort to his family during this difficult time.
