Knox County Authorities Continue Search for Jared McColloch After His Disappearance in November 2023

Knox County, Indiana – The search continues for 33-year-old Jared McColloch, who has been missing since November 2023. Jared, originally from Marion, Louisiana, was last seen at Huck’s Gas Station in Carmi, Illinois, on November 5, 2023, while on his way to visit his son. The following day, his 2020 White GMC Sierra truck was found abandoned in Knox County, Indiana, with his two dogs and suitcase still inside. His cellphone and wallet were missing, and there has been no phone or bank activity since his disappearance.

Jared was last believed to be wearing a brown jacket, a light blue shirt, blue jeans, dark blue Skechers, and a dog tag necklace with fingerprints. He has distinctive multiple tattoos on his arms and chest. The exact timeline of his movements remains unclear, partly due to the time zone change and the end of daylight savings time on November 5th.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is actively seeking any information that could lead to Jared’s whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact the department at 812-882-7660, referencing Case #23-110030.

The disappearance has garnered attention and concern from the community and beyond. The AWARE Foundation, Inc. has been actively involved in raising awareness about Jared’s case, noting that Jared’s son has also recently gone missing, adding to the family’s distress.

Social media has been flooded with posts expressing support and prayers for Jared and his son. Rosemary Davis posted, "Praying for Jared and his son Chandler to be found safe and well. In Jesus Name, Amen." Another user, Tracey Perkin, speculated on the situation, saying, "He was after custody of his son, I’d be looking at the family of his ex-partner, they know something, and if they did do something to Jared, they’ve now destroyed their son’s life."

This case has resonated with many, as the mysterious disappearance of both father and son continues to baffle authorities and loved ones alike. The community is urged to remain vigilant and share any information that could assist in bringing Jared and his son home safely.
