Born on October 23, 1979, in Leesville, Louisiana, Cory Cordova was the beloved son of Liz Cordova and the late Tommie Cordova. He grew up with a love for sports, excelling in various disciplines including baseball, basketball, and football. His academic journey was marked by a passion for learning, leading him to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern State University, followed by an MBA from Davenport University. His dedication to medicine culminated in a Doctorate of Medicine from Windsor School of Medicine.
Dr. Cordova’s career was distinguished by a relentless pursuit of excellence. He completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham and later specialized in Emergency Medicine, with further training in Resuscitation/Critical Care. His work as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Iberia Medical Center and as a faculty member at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine earned him great respect among colleagues and students alike.
In his personal life, Cory was a devoted husband to Brandee Ridgeway, whom he married in 2008. Together, they had two daughters, Olivia and Genevieve, who were the center of his world. Despite his demanding career, Cory was deeply committed to his family, balancing his professional responsibilities with his role as a loving father and husband.

Funeral arrangements for Dr. Cory Cordova are being handled by Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with visitation and a Rosary preceding the service. Inurnment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
