LaFollette Community Mourns the Loss of Beloved Local Resident Matthew Partin at 35

LaFollette, Tennessee – The LaFollette community is mourning the loss of Matthew Stephen Partin, a 35-year-old beloved resident, who passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Tennova North. Born on November 20, 1988, Matthew was widely recognized for his kindness, love of nature, and deep faith.

Matthew’s vibrant personality and passion for outdoor activities, particularly fishing and mountain exploration, endeared him to many. He found immense joy in spending time with his nieces and nephews, who were the light of his life. His commitment to his faith was evident in his regular attendance at Faithway Assembly of God, where he maintained a close bond with Pastor Steve Bruce and his wife, Rhonda.

He is survived by his parents, Stephan Ray Partin and Vanessa Dumont, as well as his siblings Tyler Dumont and wife Ashley, Alan Partin, Stephanie Sweat and husband Dalton, Alicia Partin, Ashley Ledford, and Krystal Robertson. Matthew also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Ledford.

The community is invited to honor Matthew’s life at a visitation on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Faithway Assembly of God from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a funeral service following at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Steve Bruce. The following day, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM, family and friends will gather at Martin Wilson Funeral Home for a procession to Chadwell Cemetery in the White Oak Community, where interment will take place at 11:00 AM.

Matthew Partin’s passing leaves a significant void in the LaFollette community, but his legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and the faith he cherished.
