Lancaster, Pennsylvania – In a heartbreaking incident, the Lancaster community is reeling from the devastating news of a murder-suicide involving 32-year-old Kyle Heagy and his 47-year-old girlfriend, Ann Sellers. The couple was discovered dead on Wednesday morning at a residence in the 2800 block of Lincoln Highway East, East Lampeter Township. The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office confirmed that both individuals died from gunshot wounds to the head, with Heagy’s wound being self-inflicted.
The tragic discovery was made by East Lampeter Township officers who arrived at the scene to conduct a welfare check after Heagy failed to appear at his welding job. The couple, who lived on the third floor of a family member’s house, were found in the attic where they resided separately from the rest of the household.
Ann Sellers’ mother, Dolores Sellers, expressed her disbelief over the tragic incident, stating, “This is just so unbelievable. It’s all beyond my understanding.” The family and community are left grappling with unanswered questions, as investigators continue to withhold details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The news of the tragedy has shocked the community, with many taking to social media to express their grief. Rachel Elysa shared on Facebook, "Truly in shock," while Donald Mcclucas commented, "UNBELIEVABLE." Others, like Kristina Weaver, reflected on the need for help, stating, "He was a good person and I believe he needed to get help. Very tragic."
The incident has also left Ann Sellers’ three sons, ages 10, 15, and 28, mourning the loss of their mother. The youngest of the children was reportedly at home when the police arrived.
As the investigation continues, the community is urged to come together in support of the grieving families. The Lancaster County authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Christopher Jones at 717-291-4676.
