Larry Talbot, 77, Dies in Tragic Car Accident in Colbert County, Alabama

Colbert County, AL – Larry Talbot, a 77-year-old resident of Colbert County, tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon, August 23, 2024. The accident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 43 and Ligon Springs.

According to Colbert County Emergency Management Agency Director Jody Hitt, the accident involved Talbot’s vehicle and another car. Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene, but despite their efforts, Larry Talbot was pronounced dead by Colbert County Coroner Justin Gasque.

Details regarding the cause of the crash are still under investigation. Authorities have not yet released any information about the other vehicle’s occupants or whether additional injuries were sustained.

The intersection where the accident occurred is known as a busy area, often frequented by both residents and visitors. The incident led to temporary road closures, causing significant traffic delays as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
