Chillicothe, IL – Tragedy struck the community of Chillicothe on Saturday, August 10, 2024, when Leah Henderson, 51, and her husband, Floyd Henderson, 58, were killed in a devastating motorcycle accident. The incident occurred around 9:55 p.m. on Route 29 at Knox Road in Rome, Illinois.
According to a media release from the Peoria County Coroner’s Office, the couple was involved in a collision between their motorcycle and a pickup truck. Despite immediate resuscitative efforts at the scene, both Leah and Floyd were pronounced deceased. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, with the Illinois State Police’s Crash Reconstructionists leading the efforts. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, with toxicology tests pending.
