Len McMean Remembered Fondly as Community Rallies to Support Funeral Costs in Gosport

Len McMean, 49, passed away unexpectedly after making a fresh start in Plymouth, leaving his family and friends devastated. Len had recently moved to Plymouth and started a new job at The Borrington Hotel, where he quickly made a great impression and was on track to receive an award, which he tragically missed out on due to his untimely death.

Len was known for his love of long walks, especially along the beach, where he would collect shells and driftwood to create art. He also had a passion for cooking and entertaining, often seen with a wide smile while hosting friends and family.

His unexpected passing has left his family unprepared for the costs associated with his funeral and the transportation of his body back to Gosport. In response, Nicholas Lewis has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help support Len’s mother, Gienca, and his close family during this challenging time. The fundraiser has set a goal of £3,500, with £120 already raised from two donations.

Nicholas Lewis, who organized the fundraiser, contributed £100 just minutes after launching the campaign, with another £20 donated anonymously.

The community has also taken to social media to share their thoughts and memories of Len. Nicholas Lewis wrote on Facebook, "This page is made in memory of Len, to help support his mum Gienca and close family at this time of need, for paying towards his funeral costs and the transportation of his body home to Gosport."

The family and organizers express deep gratitude for the support and kind words already received and hope to reach their fundraising goal to give Len the farewell he deserves.
