Morgantown, Kentucky – On Monday night, August 12, 2024, a fatal collision occurred on Russellville Road in Butler County, resulting in the death of 49-year-old Lincoln Schweizer, a resident of Morgantown. The tragic incident unfolded around 9:00 p.m. when Schweizer’s Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a Jeep Wrangler driven by Johnathon Williams, 37, also from Morgantown.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Williams was attempting to make a left turn onto Eric Young Road when the collision occurred. Schweizer, who was riding his motorcycle southbound on Russellville Road, suffered severe injuries from the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
Detective Bo Hubbard is leading the investigation into the accident, with assistance from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Butler County EMS, and other KSP personnel. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the accident and have urged anyone with information to come forward to aid in the investigation.
The community has expressed its sorrow and condolences on social media. James Brown Sr. commented, “A second glance can save a life – always look twice.” Brenda Crafton echoed concerns about motorcycle safety, stating, “Motorcycles are so dangerous to me.” Others, like Carol Lee Lawrence, reflected on the personal loss, sharing, “I sure hate to hear this. JJ was a hard worker and had such a great heart!”
