LT. Inspector Milan E. Grant III Remembered – Community Rallies Around His Family After Tragic Loss in Thomaston, CT

Thomaston, CT – The community is mourning the sudden loss of LT. Inspector Milan E. Grant III, a dedicated firefighter who served his community for 25 years. Milan passed away on August 18th, 2024, after suffering a massive stroke on August 7th. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Maureen, and their twin sons, Milan IV and Michael, who are currently in their sophomore year of college.

Milan’s passing has left a significant void, not only for his family but for all who knew him. Described as a man full of life, Milan was known for lighting up any room he entered. His death in the prime of his life has shocked and saddened the entire community.

A GoFundMe campaign, organized by Todd Grisco, has been set up to support Maureen and her sons during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to help cover immediate expenses and ensure that Milan’s family has the support they need moving forward. The goal is to raise $100,000 to help Maureen and the boys navigate the challenging road ahead.

The outpouring of support on social media has been overwhelming. Kevin DjKg Grant, expressing his deep sorrow, shared, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of my beloved Milan Grant III. He was more than just a cousin to me; he was a brother, a confidant, and a true friend. His sudden passing due to a stroke has left us all heartbroken and in shock.”

Other members of the community have also shared their condolences. Tim Cipriano commented, "So sorry for your loss. Milan was such a great guy!" Carol Costello echoed the sentiment, stating, "So sorry for your loss." Bryan Flowers, Rich Dubay, Morales Djjessejams Jesse, and Samantha Jane also expressed their deep sadness and support for the Grant family.

Milan’s legacy as a hero, both in his professional life as a firefighter and in his personal life as a devoted husband and father, will continue to inspire those who knew him. The community’s collective grief is matched by their determination to support Milan’s family in any way they can.
