Makayla Johnson of Olmstead, KY Dies in Tragic Car Accident in Adams, TN

Adams, Tennessee – Makayla Johnson, a 25-year-old office manager from Olmstead, Kentucky, tragically lost her life in a car accident on Sunday evening. The incident occurred on Hugh Gill Road in Adams, Tennessee, when the vehicle she was a passenger in veered off the road and struck a tree.

According to reports, the driver, John Paul Roark, 38, of Tennessee, was operating a 2013 GMC Pickup eastbound when he failed to navigate a curve on Hugh Gill Road. The pickup left the roadway and collided with a tree, resulting in the fatal injury of Makayla Johnson. Roark sustained injuries but survived the crash.

The accident happened around 7:24 p.m. near Davidson Road. Despite the efforts of first responders, Makayla could not be saved. The crash prompted a comprehensive investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), which led to the temporary closure of Hugh Gill Road.

The news of Makayla’s death has deeply affected her community and the surrounding areas. Many have taken to social media to express their condolences and offer prayers.

Jennifer L. Belcher shared, "Praying for everyone involved and their families." Patricia Lackey also expressed her sorrow, saying, "Praying for the families involved." Similarly, Brenda Waters wrote, "Praying for all involved," reflecting the widespread grief and support from the community.
