Adams, Tennessee – Makayla Johnson, a 25-year-old office manager from Olmstead, Kentucky, tragically lost her life in a car accident on Sunday evening. The incident occurred on Hugh Gill Road in Adams, Tennessee, when the vehicle she was a passenger in veered off the road and struck a tree.
According to reports, the driver, John Paul Roark, 38, of Tennessee, was operating a 2013 GMC Pickup eastbound when he failed to navigate a curve on Hugh Gill Road. The pickup left the roadway and collided with a tree, resulting in the fatal injury of Makayla Johnson. Roark sustained injuries but survived the crash.
The accident happened around 7:24 p.m. near Davidson Road. Despite the efforts of first responders, Makayla could not be saved. The crash prompted a comprehensive investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), which led to the temporary closure of Hugh Gill Road.
