Mark Bell Missing from Thirsk Area – North Yorkshire Police Urgently Seek Information

Thirsk, North Yorkshire – Mark Bell, a 31-year-old from Cumbria, has been reported missing after last being seen in the Thirsk area on Sunday evening around 9:30 p.m. Authorities are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare as all attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful.

Mark was last known to be in Thornton-le-Street near Thirsk and may have traveled to York via a train from Malton around 11:30 p.m. on the same evening. Described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, with short spiky black hair, a short black beard, and a proportionate build, Mark was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved top, a thin waterproof coat, and black trousers. However, it is possible he may have changed his clothing since then.

North Yorkshire Police are conducting extensive inquiries to locate Mark and are urging anyone who may have seen him or has information about his whereabouts to come forward immediately. Concerned individuals are asked to call 101 and provide information to the Force Control Room, quoting reference number NYP-25082024-0541. In case of an immediate sighting, please dial 999.

Several friends and concerned individuals have shared their thoughts on social media, expressing their hope for Mark’s safe return.

Abbie Gray commented, “Her welfare … his!” highlighting a typo in the initial alert.

Anita Mumberson pleaded, “Come home Mark call Ryan or the police if you see this we’re all worried about you Come home!”

Others, like Liz Wilson, posted, “Hope you find him safe.xx,” and Wayne Curtis added, “Hope he is found safe and well.”

Claire Ov also shared her concerns, saying, “Hope he’s found safe & well,” while Nadia Shoraka and Rebecca Sleightholm noted they had shared the alert in Malton.

The community remains hopeful that Mark Bell will be found safe soon, and urges anyone with information to assist in the search.
