Athens, Georgia – Matthew Chiu, a 36-year-old resident, has been missing since July 15, 2024. He was last seen leaving Cornerstone Church in Athens, Georgia. The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.
Matthew is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds. He has notable tattoos, including the King of Hearts on his left hand and the Queen of Hearts on his right hand. On the day of his disappearance, he was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.
His family is deeply concerned for his safety, noting that Matthew has a daughter whom he adores. They are hoping someone has seen him or has information that could help confirm he is safe.
The community has shown an outpouring of support on social media. Cindy Smothers Jones expressed her concern, saying, “Praying for the safe return of this young man!” Similarly, Teresa Wibbenmeyer posted, “Prayers he’s found safe,” and Shianna Lauren urged, “Please if yall see him call ACC. His baby and family miss him and just want to know he’s okay.”
