Miami, Florida – Jesus Hernandez, a 26-year-old resident of Miami, has tragically passed away, leaving his family and friends devastated. Jesus’s sister, Aleyda Hernandez, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, expressing her deep sorrow and frustration over the circumstances surrounding his death.
Jesus Hernandez, who struggled with drug addiction, had an open case with the state and appeared in court on Thursday, August 22nd. During the hearing, he admitted to his drug issues and was tested for drugs. Despite his clear plea for help, he was sent off to detox and rehab without sufficient support. Later that day, Jesus was found unconscious and was declared dead the following day. The family believes the system failed him, as his silent cry for help went unheard.
Aleyda Hernandez has started a fundraiser to help cover the costs of Jesus’s funeral and burial. The goal is to raise $11,000, and as of today, $180 has been donated by five individuals. Aleyda expressed her pain and disappointment in the system that she believes did not do enough to save her brother.
Several people have shared their condolences and memories of Jesus on Facebook. Victoria Florez Hernández wrote, "Descanse en paz Jesus Hernández," while Vicky Llabre and Maritza Pena both shared "EPD" as a tribute to his memory.
The family has not yet set a date for the funeral, but they plan to update everyone as soon as possible. Those who wish to help can donate to the funeral fund or share the fundraiser link to support the Hernandez family during this difficult time.
