Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers Seeks Public’s Help in Solving the Disappearance of Jefferson "Jeff" West in Bay St. Louis, MS

Bay St. Louis, MS – The search for Jefferson "Jeff" West, who vanished on July 2, 2018, continues as Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers and the Bay St. Louis Police Department urge the public to come forward with any information that could solve the mystery of his disappearance. Jeff West, 46 at the time, was last seen in the yard of his residence on Washington Street in Bay St. Louis, MS. His personal belongings, including his cell phone, wallet, and car keys, were found left behind.

In April 2024, Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers released the state’s first set of playing cards featuring 36 unsolved homicides and 20 missing person cases, including Jeff’s. These cards have been distributed in jails and prisons across multiple counties, including Jackson, Harrison, Hancock, and others, as part of a unique initiative to generate leads in cold cases. The effort was funded by Season of Justice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting law enforcement and families in solving cold cases.

The community and law enforcement continue to search for answers, with a reward of up to $2,500 offered for information leading to the resolution of Jeff West’s case. Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers encourages anyone with information to come forward by downloading the P3 Tips app or calling the dedicated hotline. As stated in a recent Facebook post by Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers, "We pay CASH rewards for information leading to felony arrests."

Jeff West’s case remains a poignant reminder of the unsolved mysteries that haunt families and communities. The playing cards initiative, which includes Jeff’s case, reflects the ongoing commitment to bringing closure to those who have waited years for answers.
