Montgomery County Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Missing 77-Year-Old Ambesso Maskal from Silver Spring

Montgomery County, Maryland – The Montgomery County Police Department is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating Ambesso Maskal, a 77-year-old resident of Silver Spring who has been missing since Monday, August 19, 2024. Maskal was last seen around 2:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Automobile Blvd.

Ambesso Maskal is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with grey hair, a grey beard, and a dark brown complexion. He was last seen wearing a short sleeve button-up shirt and beige khaki pants. Authorities believe he may be driving a dark gray 2025 Honda Civic, with Maryland registration plates 8GG6560.

In response to his disappearance, the Maryland State Police have issued a Silver Alert, underscoring the urgency of the situation. Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are leading the search efforts and have called on the community for any information that could assist in locating Maskal.

The Montgomery County Police Department has shared a post on Facebook, emphasizing their concern for Maskal’s safety. They ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts contact the Montgomery County Police Non-Emergency line at (301) 279-8000, which is available 24 hours a day.

The local community is deeply concerned, with many taking to social media to share the police department’s post in hopes of helping to bring Maskal home safely.
