Montgomery Mourns the Loss of Marcus Bellinger, 30, Following Fatal Shooting Near Greenbriar Apartments

Montgomery, Alabama – The community is grieving after 30-year-old Marcus Bellinger was tragically killed in a double shooting near the Greenbriar Apartments on Virginia Loop Road. The incident occurred late Tuesday night, and authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

Montgomery police responded to the scene around 10:10 p.m., where they found Marcus Bellinger suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts, he was declared deceased at the scene. A second individual, also wounded in the shooting, was transported to a local hospital and is currently being treated for severe injuries.

The Montgomery Police Department has not yet released details about the motive behind the shooting or identified any suspects. They are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting CrimeStoppers or the MPD.

The community has taken to social media to express their grief and disbelief. Kenderick Beasley posted on Facebook, "R.I.P my nigga Marcus Bellinger… playing ball with you all those years gang brought us closer… sad nigga got shoot." He added a call to action, criticizing the younger generation for resorting to gun violence.

Another friend, Jr Milliner, shared his sorrow, stating, "Damn man the city tripping man rest up bro." Similarly, Herman Owens Jr. expressed his frustration with the increasing violence, lamenting, "Sorry for your loss bruh. These niggas ain’t fighting now a days. They wanna up that pistol any chance they get instead of throwing hands and everybody going home after to live another day."

As the investigation continues, Marcus Bellinger’s death serves as a sobering reminder of the escalating violence in Montgomery. The community’s outpouring of grief on social media reflects the deep loss felt by those who knew him.
